Who I am

My name is Joost Ligthart and i am photographing my whole life. I started with a Vivitar camera, very simple with very small negatives. My first proper camera was my grandads Pentax SLR. Of course, in the beginning, there was the steep learning curve because i had to learn to understand to shoot in manual mode.

In the 1990’s, I bought my first Canon camera, still analog, and a few. years later my first Canon digital camera. From a Eos 300 to a mirrorless R5 within 30 years. My main theme is Landscape photography and therefore i also use a sturdy tripod (Sirui) and Kase filters. I started with the square and rectangular filters but nowadays I only use the circular magnetic ones as Lightroom can adjust gradual adaptations so much better now.

I am mainly based in the Netherlands but also have a base in Argyll in Scotland. If you are interested, i offer 1-1 tuition in both places. Just contact me and we discuss how to move on further.
